Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who is dying from pancreatic cancer, gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007. In his moving talk, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals.
This video is 1 hour 15 minutes and is definitely time well spent. It will make you think of life in a different way and provide some valuable life lessons you can use yourself and pass on to your loved ones. Make the time to watch this at least once! Pausch also has a blog and a book based on this lecture, which I will read soon.

Tired and Silly
This weekend, Kaitlyn must have been feeling under the weather (we keep thinking she's about ready to cut a tooth), because she was very tired and just wanted to be held and take naps. She had a low fever (99°) and was drooling a lot. Alas, there are still no teeth in that mouth of hers.
Today, she was much happier and seemed to be back to her old self. In fact, she found a new fun game - licking the glass on the sliding glass door. I went in the backyard and took these pictures looking at her through the glass - silly girl.

Weekend Visits - April 5-6, 2008
Kaitlyn had another busy weekend of visits - she's a popular girl. On Saturday, we went to Daniella & Jeremy's house to visit Kaitlyn's friend, Maddysen. Maddysen is a month younger than Kaitlyn and showed off her newly acquired teeth while Kaitlyn demonstrated her ability to crawl all over the house. They had a great time bouncing in their exersaucers and playing with each other's toys. After we left, we stopped at the grocery store where Kaitlyn got to sit in her new "Floppy Seat" grocery cart cover - she looked pretty comfortable. On Sunday, Gramma Cutforth and Edward came by for an afternoon visit. Kaitlyn did some crawling, but mostly blew raspberries and talked. She was very tired after they left and took a 3 hour nap. It's tough always having to be "on."

9 Month Checkup
Today, I took Kaitlyn to her 9 month checkup at the doctor. Her cough is completely gone, but she still pulls on her ears sometimes. The doctor said they weren't infected, but she might be pulling on them because they are healing. If they become infected again, we'll have to go see an ear specialist, so let's hope she's over it now.
They took her measurements and she weighed in at 20 lbs. 9 oz. and was 28.75 in. tall. Her height is in the 90th percentile, but her weight is starting to level off and is now down to the 75th percentile. You can see her growth chart here (it's always posted on the left hand side of the blog along with other "useful" information).
Lastly, she had to get one shot to stay current with her immunizations. She was a trooper and only fussed a little bit, but stopped right after I picked her up. If all goes well, we won't have to go back to the doctor until her 12 month checkup.
