Welcome to the Cutforth Family Blog. This blog provides insight into the lives of Dave, Shawnna and Kaitlyn Cutforth. Of course, since Kaitlyn is the newest (and cutest) member of our family, most of the focus is on her development and the fun things we do as parents.

2 Month Doctor Visit

On Tuesday, we took Kaitlyn to the doctor for her 2 month appointment. The appointment consisted of a weigh in, height and head circumference measurements, as well as vaccinations. I had been dreading this date since we made the appointment after her first vaccination appointment back in July. I cried longer than she did and I wasn't looking forward to doing that again.
Well, call me naive, but I didn't realize that there would be 3 needles! My poor baby! We were armed with Tylenol to ward off any fever she might get, but I was not prepared for how many shots she would get. I am happy to report that Kaitlyn took it like a champ after her screaming was finally over. (Mommy however was a wreck from the get-go.) She fell asleep before we left the exam room and didn't wake up for a while. She only woke up long enough to complain about being in the carseat still. I took her out and she fell back to sleep on my shoulder (which is usually her favorite perch for viewing the world).
Since Tuesday, she's only been a little more sleepy than usual. Other than that, there was no fever or crankiness that the doctor said is the usual outcome of these shots. Again, Kaitlyn proves to be the best kid ever!
Not to forget the fun stuff from the visit, Kaitlyn weighed in at 12 lbs., 1 oz. That puts her into the 75th percentile for her age. Her height is 22.5 inches, which is average, along with the average circumference of 15 inches. She's thriving, happy and adorable as ever.
