We spent the long Memorial Day weekend with Shawnna's parents in a beachfront house in Santa Cruz. Shawnna's Mom earned the privilege to stay on the property by working for her company for 25 years and generously extended the offer to let us share the reward.
We drove up Friday, came back Monday and had a very nice, relaxing time in between. We ate at some good restaurants (Crow's Nest, Zelda's, Rock of the Sea), one not so good restaurant (Gilbert's), walked along The Boardwalk, saw seals on the pier, played in the sand, walked along the beach, watched surfers and boogie boarders ride the waves, lounged in recliners and looked at the amazing views outside our windows, strolled through Capitola, played Yahtzee with Mike (Shawnna's brother) and Amanda (his girlfriend), watched the fireworks that beachgoers set off at night, chased Kaitlyn around the house, beach, Boardwalk, pier, etc. Needless to say, it was a ton of fun.
